I have a Sky-Watcher HEQ-5 Pro mount and an Svbony 80mm ED refractor. I have accumulated a remarkable number of add-ons that I attach to the refractor: ZWO Off-Axis Guider with ZWO ASI120MM guide camera, ZWO Electronic Auto Focuser, ZWO ASI1600MM camera, and a ZWO Electronic Filter Wheel. With all that gear added on, the tiny little dove plate that came with the telescope proves to be far too short, but while I have bought a longer dove plate, it seems that I cannot quite figure out how to attach it to my refractor. Is there a trick to this that I am being too dense to figure out??

Sorry, just saw this reply now. The holes in the new dovetail seem to be a different size, so none of the screws that fit into the scope will fit through the dovetail. Why are these things not standard??
Hi, I have also had to purchase longer dovetails for some telescopes in order to achieve balance. What do you mean by you can't figure out how to attach it? You just remove the short dovetail and use the same screws to attach the longer one. Hopefully the holes in the longer dovetail you bought match your telescope.
