I have another advantage for mirrorless cameras (as compared with DSLRs)--their live-view screens are infinitely better for achieving focus on distant stars than a DSLR, or at least I find that to be the case when comparing my 5DMkIV with my R5 (both Canon, of course).
The main difference for astro is that they are much lighter, smaller, and some are also faster. Mirrorless cameras are now more and more popular especially for this hobby. Having a light camera helps to have a less heavy setup.
