I purchased an Optolong Clip-in L-Enhance Light Pollution Filter for my Canon T5. Optically it seems to work well. But, I noticed it doesn't securely fasten into position. If you tip the camera body from vertical with the telephoto lens removed. It falls out. Does the telephoto lens have to be installed to hold the clip-in LPF in place?

The filter should be secured even without a lens attached. Are you sure you bought the correct one for your camera? When you attach it, it should be very tight, it's hard to see how tight it is on this video but this is what it should look like (14:11) : https://youtu.be/YRMjhJQbol4?t=851
